Consider it. Each night, for an unnoticed period of time, you are involuntarily absorbed in deep, dreamless un- consciousness: not at all conscious of any earthly reality— including existence of the person. Whatever it is that is present in this condition is totally undifferentiated; it has no relationship to the world, or even the cosmos: all that we usually think of as “reality” has disappeared completely. There is not so much as a “self” which remains to be aware of the absolute emptiness. – Robert Wolfe
